Ok, first fish on the fly for the new year. Had to brave the cold weather on my birthday to take this picture. My friends Dale and Jerry came along with me to the Missouri River near Criag, MT.
Hope you all are inspired to tie some flies and get ready for your opener!

Cheers.

This brings back pleasant memories

My son in law and I canoed from Wolf Creek to Craig and on arriving found that our car had not been shuttled down

Luck of the Scot's one of the guides was going back upriver and ferried us back to the car park at the bridge

Cost the manager of Montana Outfitters a jar of moonshine for being forgetful

Spent the afternoon on the Pilmuir afloat with club member Brian. We each had two fish, which some others missed. Weather was gorgeous - like June - with loads of fish moving on the top.

A fairly typical wee troot caught in difficult conditions today. Rainy, windy and cold with just the odd fish rising,

Not the biggest fish the Pilmuir holds or best quality photo (taken on my BlackBerry) but it was a surprise catch on a beautiful night,
