Fly:Greenwell's Glory


Hook: Dry Fly 14 - 18
Thread: Yellow thread or floss
Tail: Dark furnace cock fibres
Rib: Fine gold wire
Hackle: Dark furnace
Wing: Mallard slips

Tie in thread/floss and wing using figure of eight to split the wing in a V shape (see last picture for front on view of the wing).



Thread to bend and tie in rib.



Tie in tail (full body length beyond hook bend).



Build up body and rib up beyond wing.



Tie in hackle behind wing and bring thread to eye (allowing for three turns behind wing and then two turns in front of wing).



Wind on hackle as above and tie off.



All done, front view.
